Art Within Reach

This wide-ranging selection showcases the gallery’s interests and the diversity of stock that has been at the heart of our ethos over the last seventy years. The paintings have been carefully chosen to represent artistic merit and fair value.

2025 marks the seventieth anniversary of the Richard Green Gallery and we are delighted that the first exhibition to be held at the start of this celebratory year is Art Within Reach.

This year’s collection highlights a remarkable variety of genres and artists. Among the works on display are sporting paintings by John Frederick Herring Snr and Samuel Henry Alken, magnificent British landscapes by John Thomas Serres and Thomas Sidney Cooper, as well as sensitive depictions of flowers by the celebrated female artists Jessica Hayllar and Mary Fedden. British Impressionists include works by Harold Harvey, one recently on loan from us to the artist’s major retrospective exhibition at the Penlee House Gallery and Museum in Penzance. We also have a section honouring artists integral to the gallery’s history, including Edward Seago, Sir William Russell Flint and Ken Howard. For those drawn to modernity, our Post-War Abstract selection includes vibrant gouaches by Patrick Heron.

As always, we say to our collectors: buy with confidence, buy what truly resonates with you, and you will have enjoyment from your paintings for many years to come. We look forward to welcoming you to this special celebration of art and history.
