Richard Green is delighted to announce our exhibition which will be unveiled at TEFAF Maastricht 2019, Father and Son: Camille and Lucien Pissarro, showcasing an artistic dynasty which spans France and Britain, Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. Paintings by Camille and his eldest son Lucien reflect the energetic, generous and influential pair of painters who were at the heart of their own cultural circles and also international in outlook.
Other highlights of Richard Green’s stand will include an exquisite example of Pieter Claesz.’s work from the 1630s, Still life with a pewter jug, c. 1632, which shows the artist, as the leading exponent of Haarlem still life, working in a ‘tonal’ style in which the subtle interaction of hues creates a sense of classical harmony. A discreet air of luxury pervades this elegant composition.
