EMILY YOUNG FRBS

Born London 1951

We are proud to announce Britain’s greatest living free carver, Emily Young, has entrusted the gallery to act as one of her main dealers and look forward to her next solo exhibition at Richard Green next year.

We are delighted to display a selection of unique sculptures by Young at 147 New Bond Street, fresh from their recent exhibition at the Treasure House Art Fair, where they featured in the Sculpture Walk celebrating Leading British Female Sculptors. These exceptional heads and torsos, including Blue Moth Torso II, Cave Song I, The Flute Player and Aminth (Head of a Boy), have been carved from ancient stones, including limestone, caramel onyx, speleothem and Purbeck blue marble, whose colouristic and inherent compositional qualities Young skilfully exploits. Sculptures by the artist are also currently on view at the Venice Biennale.
